| Description | If such an advertisement (see 0001501) is received, the existence should be confirmed and the URL added to a secondary hostlist server list. If servers on that list are unavailable for extended periods of time, they should also be possibly removed again. Also, we may want to (sometimes, rarely) forward confirmed hostlist URLs to other peers. | ||||

Hostlist client now recieves hostlist advertisements by hostlist servers. This advertisements include a URI where the server's hostlist can be obtained. The advertisements are tested before they are stored in a list separate from the preconfigured bootstrap servers. This list is saved to disk in regular intervalls and loaded during startup. When downloading, the hostlist daemon is alternating between preconfigured bootstrap servers and advertised hostlists every time. To enable learning you have to add the option "-e" to OPTIONS in the [hostlist] section of your config file. |
