Summary | 0009206: nirvana for regional currency setup
Description | Deposit into regional bank account was done to a non-existing bank account. The exchange can then not do the wire transfer (bank account not found), but also not really refund the original wallet (no way to communicate that the deposit failed). We need to figure out what to do.

We can fix this via the KYCAUTH method in the KYC-enabled deployments. However, that is probably not an adequate answer for regional currency deployments. At the same time, for regional currency deployments, the bank could actually tell us quickly (!) if the account exists. So question: should we expand the wire gateway API with an (optional) endpoint to check if an account exists? I think always forcing KYC AUTH transfers first is not a good UX for regional/event currencies, but neither are nirvana-transfers. |
