| Summary | 0002427: GNS should honor CNAMES | ||||
| Description | I just implemented CNAME handling for NS delegation. GNS does not honor CNAME records. I.e. no checking for CNAMEs/restart of resolution. CNAMES for GNS have some drawbacks. First of all they will mostly result in costly further lookups and secondly don't have such a big advantage as DNS CNAMEs have (we can only change the name in the current authoritative zone). Example: <- www.test.gnunet A query -> RR: test PKEY <key> -> RR: www CNAME server Right now: Resolution fails Expected result: <- server(.test.gnunet) A query [We can continue where we left off] -> RR: server A 1.2.3.4 Should be easy to fix. Low priority. This bug serves as reminder. | ||||
