For Unix, iODBC (http://sourceforge.net/projects/iodbc/) looks like the right choice. It doesn't build on Windows/MinGW, but we probably don't need it there. |

I think 3 backends is going to be enough for a long time at this point. At least I don't see anyone doing this -- and maintaining the code. |
