 I can only partly confirm (to the better) -- this being for v1.6.0 deployed:

1. After entering the email auth code, briefly a blue bar on the top of the cred fields can be seen, for 1-2 secs;
2. the fields switch to having the SMS auth codes entered;
3. after doing so, instance shows up created.
