Summary	0011506: write DD for 100% fee idea
Description	There are a bunch of open questions: * What will the currency be called? * CHF/EUR but with some meta-data to distinguish it from "transferable" CHF/EUR * Separate currency name * How will the exchange signal the fees? I've heard different ideas floating around regarding this

Christian Grothoff 2026-06-11 01:44 manager ~0028856	Good questions. Do we want one currency, or does it make sense to distinguish between say BTC/USD/EUR/CHF-backed 100%-fee coins? I think it makes little practical difference to the user/merchant, modulo with BTC the amounts would be VERY different (say 100 Satoshi instead of 1 cent). If we use one currency, we might also literally use a single exchange with just many bank accounts and conversion. We've never tested that, but I think in principle we could have an exchange take CHF to NETZBON and also EUR to NETZBON from another exchange bank account, so we could have a single exchange for everything. To be confirmed though -- this was never tested. That said, not sure a single global exchange is ideal for this from a performance perspective (network latency would be high). The exchange will signal the fees using the usual mechanisms: STEFAN_LIN = 1 and denomination deposit fees at the denomination value. The bigger question is how the wallets should render those to explain to the user what the deal here is.
