Summary0010940: Merchant: On the settings page time adjustment and the clear button are dysfunctional bc POST method is missing
DescriptionWhile testing Merchant Backend v1.3.0 with its Backoffice UI the "time wheels" were used to adjust times for {refund, wire transfer} delay but after confirming the same page showed no change to the delay times. Also the "clear" button - which is lacking a clear description of what it does and to what value it defaults - was dysfunctional. It just did nothing at all.

We discussed this behavior during the Quality Checkpoint meeting of Jan 28, reproduced the issue and came to the conviction that a POST method is missing alongside the FETCH method and that this bug can be resolved relatively quick. Therefore, this ticket is assigned directly.

POST? I think you mean PATCH.

The tooltip is there, the i18n key is "Change value to empty" since `2024-07-11` for which i see a translation to DE

      ],
      "Change value to never": [
        "Wert auf „nie“ setzen"
      ],
      "Change value to empty": [
        "Wert annullieren"
      ],
      "Image must be smaller than 1 MB": [
        "Die Bilddatei muss kleiner als 1 MB sein"
      ],

I can see the tooltip on hover so I couldn't reproduce this issue.

The dysfunctional PATCH is fixed after d178affa2..e132d2613 it was due to a wrong conversion between TalerProtocolDuration and Duration

Yes, I can see the tooltip on hover over the "Clear" button. It says "Change value to empty" but this does not mean anything to new users. What about "Clear value" for the button label and "This action deletes the value in the field next to it"?

One word is OK for button like "confirm" or "cancel". If that not enough for i18n I can add context to the word because this button is particular for the date input field.

Regarding the tool-tip what about "Delete the current date".

BUT... This date input handler has different types of button and I the "clear" button in this case is not the correct one. We need a "reset" button with a tooltip "Set the value defined by the server" (or maybe suggest a better one) which is much more useful since and empty value is not valid in this context.

I will add the reset button, let me know if those texts are good enough.
