Summary0010052: Adding new Exchange may fail
DescriptionNon-detault pilots (like Netzbon and the TALER Bookseller) require adding a new exchange manually in the Taler Wallet.

On Android, sometimes, the Exchange is not added immediately, and there is no hint on the progress of the operation.
It may return an error message that requires repeating the add operation, but it seems not to be consistent across Android versions and devices tested so far.

Once the Exchange has been added successfully, there may be a delay of several seconds before the Exchange appears, without visual hint that something is happening.

This behavior seems to be variable across devices and no extensive tests has been done yet to prove the issue nor to track the problem down to its causes.

The issue result ranges from doubt and frustration to the impossibility to pursue the demo, leading to a loss of confidence in the system.

Steps To ReproduceThis operation is done in Parameters > Payment Service Providers > hitting the + sign on the bottom right, and entering the URL of the exchange.
In the Bookseller demo, the URL to enter is `https://exchange.bookseller.taler.net/`.

I think the pattern is the following:

1. If you type a final `/`, the Exchange will be added.
2. If you omit the final `/`, the process will silently fail.

A possible resolution would be to ensure that the URL path is set, defaulting to `/`.

Tested with both bookseller and demo.taler.net with the latest Taler Wallet.

The original delay issue seems to be fixed on my device running Android 15.

I traced the URL to https://git.taler.net/taler-android.git/tree/wallet/src/main/java/net/taler/wallet/exchanges/ExchangeManager.kt#n99

It is passed as a string, so it should be easy to append a slash if it's missing. Or is it something that should go deeper into the api backend?

Yes! I confirm the bug was fixed in the latest Android Wallet Nightly.
